English for Master's Study 2 continues to focus you intensively on language improvement and the development of independent academic study skills appropriate to master's level. You will have, by the end of the module, embedded your existing English language skills within the specialist professional language, taxonomy and vocabulary of your discipline, showing confidence and diversity in your vocabulary, contextualisation and interpretation.

This module provides further practical experiences in the integration of English for academic purposes (including analysis, rhetoric, discourse, comprehension and communication) and provides you with opportunities to apply these skills within a professional context.

You will have the opportunity to position your previous theoretical learning against diverse and challenging contemporary Business or Computing theorem, ensuring a broadening of your knowledge base and cognitive skills ready for your upcoming Master's. You will apply your improving comprehension skills through critical debate and gain the confidence to engage actively in seminars, debates and industry Q&As.

Through the module, you will consolidate your experience and academic skills enabling a more analytical and didactic interpretation of research within formal, referenced written submissions.

Innovation is critical for the survival and growth of all organisations. In this module, you are offered an opportunity to explore how various forms of contemporary organisations are able to develop and manage their innovation activities. The module examines what is meant by innovation, why innovation is critical for organisations, and how innovation activities are developed and employed in contemporary organisations as a means of driving and shaping their business. Throughout the module, seminars will involve critical analysis of real-life cases to address a range of innovation problems. In this way, you will develop commercial awareness and recognise drivers for innovation success. You will also have the opportunity to work with others and communicate your views. Formative assessment of these seminar cases will help in preparing the final assessment task.
